Anti-Stokes Exciton Emission in CdS Crystals
Two photon excited exciton emission induced by a giant pulse ruby laser is investigated in thick CdS platelets with laser intensity varying several orders of magnitude and the temperature between 2 and 300 K. The effect of an additional steady state excitation in the red and near infrared region is studied as well as the decay characteristics of the luminescence. A structured specimen is observed consisting mainly of one phonon replicas of free and bound exciton lines.
