In a series of papers Jaynes and co-workers (Jaynes and Cummings, 1963; Crisp and Jaynes, 1969; Stroud and Jaynes, 1970) and others (e.g. Stroud, Eberly, Lama and Mandel, 1972) have looked at the effect of a radiation reaction field of the type first considered by Lorentz
$${{}_{self}}\left( t \right) = \frac{2}{{3{c^3}}} \left( t \right)$$
reacting on an oscillating dipole P(t).
