Abstract

An important conclusion from our discussions this morning is that undesirable exhaust emissions from gas turbine combustors can be effectively reduced by changes in fuel type, fuel injection method and liner geometry, and by increased primary zone homogenity. However, it is clear that a new approach to combustor design is essential if further substantial reductions in emission levels are to be attained without attendant penalties in other important aspects of combustion performance.
