Part of the Optical Physics and Engineering book series (OPEG)

In this chapter we investigate the spectral composition of laser radiation while taking account of the most essential physical causes of spectral broadening. One of these causes —the nonlinear interaction between modes — was considered above (Chap. IV–VI), Below we also investigate the effect of angular divergence and kinetic operation on the spectral width of the generation.
