We used different methods for the study of memory, the particular method depending on the particular task. Our work entailed (1) visual perception of objects and the retention of their images; (2) auditory perception and the retention of an auditory image—the direction of the sound and its source; (3) vestibular perception and the retention of the image of the path traversed;(4) complex perception of an object by means of several sensory organs: vision, olfaction, taste, and the vestibular perception; (5) emotional stimuli in the form of fear; and finally (6) conditioned reflex behavior following the perception of a conditional signal.
