Up to this point we have only considered ordered motion, in which all of the plasma particles move in an ordered way, as soldiers in parade. This kind of motion is characteristic of a cold plasma. Thermal motion violates this ordered pattern. In a hot plasma the particles move without order, like school children. The thermal motion is chaotic. It is only subject to laws derived from the mathematical theory of probability.
