Abstract
Since the beginning of our industrial economy, an abundant supply of clean water has been a major factor in the choice of plant locations. In many instances in the past, industry has used water from our rivers and lakes, then returned it without regard to contaminants. Times are changing. Today’s industrial leaders are more conscious of their responsibility to the public and are coming to regard adequate waste treatment as an integral part of the cost of doing business, and many are calling public attention to their efforts.
