Molecular Scattering of Light in Gases
By using the photographic method of measurement described in Chapter III, Sec. 11, Cabannes  first made measurements of the absolute intensity of scattered light in argon and measurement of the relative intensity in some other gases and vapors of organic substances. Later, Daure , in Cabannes’ laboratory, made absolute measurements in vapors of ethyl chloride, and Vaucouleurs  made measurements in argon, air, and ethyl chloride.
