The Inner Senses
This chapter briefly summarizes proprioceptive and enteroceptive nerve signals. Signals of afferents from muscle do not serve the sensing of the position or of the movement of limbs but are components of motor control. Afferents of joints provide the neural signals of position sense and of kinesthesia.
