Immunocytological CSF Alterations and Brain Tumors

  • Chapter
Humoral Immunity in Neurological Diseases

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSA,volume 24))

Abstract

The presence of a cell-mediated immune response in connection with brain tumors is no longer a matter of speculation (2, 5, 9). The histomorphological criteria are round cell infiltrates in primary and secondary brain tumors (6, 7, 11). A lymphocytic reaction therefore was also to be expected in the context of the cyto logical evaluation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
