Abstract
Since the preparation of the manuscript, Dr. Andrew M. Michelakis in “The Effect of Sodium and Calcium on Renin Release in Vitro.”, Proc. Soc. Exptl. Biol. Med. 137:833, 1971, demonstrated that renin release is enhanced from renal slices by increasing the calcium concentration in the medium. These data and the above paper indicate that the role of calcium in the release of renin should be investigated further.
