Effect of Pregnancy on the Restoration of Immunological Responses in Neonatally Thymectomized Female Mice

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Contemporary Topics in Immunobiology ((CTI,volume 2))

Abstract

Recalling “the pregnancy experiment,” my first impression is that it was made a long time ago (Osoba, 1965); so much has happened in immunobiology since then. Here I shall recapitulate the results of that experiment and present some new data from other investigations done at that time but not previously published. These will be discussed in the light of recent knowledge, and some lines for future studies will also be considered.
