Genetic and Physiological Properties of an Escherichia Coli Strain Carrying the dnaA Mutation T46

  • Chapter
DNA Synthesis

Part of the book series: NATO Advanced Study Institutes Series ((NSSA,volume 17))

Abstract

Initiation of DNA replication is a crucial event in the control of chromosome duplication in bacteria (for review see Pritchard, 1974) and possibly of other events in the cell cycle like cell division (Helmstetter et al., 1968; Donachie, 1968; Pritchard et al., 1969); Pritchard, 1974).
