Measurement of Torque due to Anisotropy of the Magnetization Vector in Superconducting Niobium

  • Chapter

Abstract

The anisotropy of the upper critical field in cubic anisotropic superconductors is well established. This is not the case for the anisotropy of the magnetization vector M in the mixed state. Although this phenomenon has already been predicted by Takanaka and Nagashima /1/ in 1970, the first successful experiment was reported only recently /2/.
