Abstract
In the previous chapter it became evident that polyphase systems were the rule, rather than the exception, in engineering materials derived from resins, polymers, and elastomers. We saw why this was so, and we considered some examples of how plastics were strengthened or stiffened or bettered by the inclusion of powders, fibers, fabrics, and films. We turn now to some more elaborate examples of composite materials which come under the survey of the resinographer, examples which call for a more detailed description.
