Abstract

A widely spread system of nuclei and fiber tracts, involving cerebral cortex and numerous sub-cortical regions. In contrast to the pyramidal system, this complex motor system influences lower motor neurons via numerous neurons and synapses, involving complex feedback mechanisms.
