Abstract
Today’s mental health counselor has a wide range of roles and employment opportunities. For example, counselors can be diagnosticians and treatment planners, psychotherapists, teachers and trainers, community organizers, case managers, consultants, human relations specialists, workshop leaders, grant writers, coordinators and program developers, referral agents, researchers, evaluation specialists, report writers, and supervisors. Additional roles for counselors continue to evolve.
