Abstract
Management information systems (MIS) is one of those terms developing out of the data processing environment. Definitions of management information systems vary widely in different industries and in different work environments within specific industries. The timeliness and use of management information also varies widely. Within the context of integrated cost and schedule control, management information systems provide information to management contemporary in nature, valid within an acceptable variance, containing only the kind and depth of information required by management for management purposes.
