Abstract
This is a speculative chapter because very little is known of biological control of weeds using prokaryotes and much less is known concerning the molecular biology of the many possible interactions among combinations of weeds and prokaryotes. Biological control using prokaryotes is viewed differently by many groups. Each viewpoint requires specific responses from those developing biological control agents. In the following paragraphs, I seek to provide some insight on the challenges faced by scientists developing biological control concepts and systems at the molecular level.
