Abstract
For measurements of the spin dependence in p̅p interaction it has been proposed to polarize antiprotons by inserting a gas target of polarized hydrogen into the LEAR ring. The polarized target acts as an antiproton spin filter, provided the p̅p total cross section is spin dependent. The filter method will be tested with protons instead of antiprotons in the Heidelberg Test Storage Ring TSR. The status of the components for this test experiment is reported.
