Cell Individuality and Connectivity, an Evolutionary Compromise

  • Chapter

Abstract

I deal in this essay with individuality at the cellular level. This is a far cry from individuality of a whole organism, but it is something a reductionist can try his hand at in the hope that eventually the roots of that which sets one organism apart from another (similar) one may be traced to its cells, to their molecular machineries and interactions with each other and the environment. I try to look for clues at the interaction level.
