Abstract
Tyrosine phenol lyase catalyzes the splitting of L-tyrosine and L-3,4-dihydroxyphenyl-alanine (DOPA). The reversibility of both reactions allows this enzyme to be used for the synthesis of L-tyrosine and L-DOPA (1,2).
