Abstract

During the last two years my laboratory has been concerned with the determination of the structure and sequence of cytochrome P-450cam of Pseudomonas putida. One of our more recent lines of investigations is to compare this hemeprotein to P-450 cytochrome of higher organisms. The main objective of this investigation is to identify characteristic structural features common to P-450 type hemeproteins, and to demonstrate the value of the readily soluble and accessible, pure cytochrome P-450cam as a structural model.
