Microenvironmental Aspects of Immunity

Part of the book series: Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology ((AEMB,volume 29))

Abstract

In this introductory note I should just like to make a few general remarks on the importance of lymphatic cell morphology, the necessity for the theoretical approaches to the study of immune response, and the existence of many connections among apparently different tissues, to sketch the principal components of the microenvironment of lymphatic tissue and point out the functional interdependence of the immune system, on the one hand, and the nervous or endocrine system, on the other.
