Abstract

In the physics of sintering today a great amount of experimental results have been collected which make any attempt of generalization rather difficult. In the papers published so far most space is taken up as much by theorising using models as by idealised concepts, based on the assumption of the action of a certain mechanism of transport of mass. However, these considerations, regardless of their certain advantages, do not permit assessment of the real importance of the basic processes which occur during sintering of real dispersed systems whose densification is the result of the simultaneous action of a series of atomic mechanisms, which are hard to identify in actual conditions.
