Abstract
The invited speakers of the Georgetown University short course on “The Science and Technology of Superconductivity” encompass extensive and diverse backgrounds in the field of superconductivity. Their combined presence at Georgetown University afforded a singular historic opportunity to solicit and record their views on the scientific, technological, and economic implications of recent advances in superconductivity. The first hour of the discussion centered on the implications of the major scientific advances which occurred in the last five years in superconductivity research. The second hour of the discussion focused on the technological and economic implications of the applications of superconductivity during that same five year period.
