Formamidine Pesticides-Actions in Insects and Acarines

  • Chapter

Abstract

The formamidines are a novel group of acaricide-insecticides, unique both in chemical structure and in their range of biological activities. No general agreement exists concerning their mechanisms of action. The biological and pharmacological activities of the formamidine pesticides have recently been reviewed (Hollingworth, 1976; Matsumura and Beeman, 1976). This report will attempt to reassess the problem of formamidine pesticidal mechanisms, and to define future research needs.
