Abstract

Experiments and theory on SmB6 are reviewed critically. Then new experimental results for Sm1-xVxB6 with vacancies V, 0 < x < 1/3, are shown. A model in which 4f hole states of Sm are described by an extended Hubbard model with collective spin fluctuation modes is proposed. The theory explains neary all the anomalous properties self-consistently.
