Structure of Amorphous Semiconductors

  • R. Grigorovici

When a few decades ago solid state physics emerged as a discipline in its own right it centered its interest on crystals. Among the different reasons one certainly was that crystallography offered the physicist a ready-made formalism describing the symmetry properties of periodic crystal lattices. Only the glasses presented too much technical interest to be completely pushed aside.
