Superconducting Elements

Superconducting Materials

Abstract

Superconductivity has been detected in 27 elements at ordinary pressures (Table 8). All these elements are metals. Thus superconductivity is a specific characteristic of the metallic type of interatomic bond. There is a point of view according to which all “true,” extremely pure metals should be superconducting at 0°K.
