Abstract
The Intersociety Committee on Manual of Methods for Ambient Air Sampling and Analysis is a collaborative effort of eight American professional societies; Air Pollution Control Association, American Chemical Society, American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, American Industrial Hygiene Association, American Public Health Association, American Society for Testing and Materials, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Association of Official Analytical Chemists. Its main objective is to produce standardized methods of sampling and analysis for routine investigations of air pollution. It is financially supported by the Air Pollution Control Office (APCO) of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Its administrative functions are handled by the American Public Health Association and its affairs are directed by an Executive Committee, consisting of one member from each of the eight constituent societies, which serves as a policy-making and editorial board.
