Abstract
The practice of medicine has become intertwined with legal considerations as medical technology has continued to advance. New developments in science multiply both the human life span and the number and types of accompanying risks to the patient. These risks are one of the factors for the increase in lawsuits effecting physicians. However, it would be an oversimplification to view the popularity of medical malpractice cases in the last 10 years as contingent solely on technological advancements.
