Introduction

Abstract

In September 1970, the editors of this volume organized a Symposium on Prostaglandins which attracted a large number of distinguished scientists in chemistry, physiology, pharmacology, and various branches of medicine from all over the world. The proceedings of this meeting gave clear evidence of the remarkable and rapid progress which has characterized this field of research. As one of the members who has had the opportunity to follow the development in this area from the very beginning, I am particularly pleased to contribute a brief note of introduction to this volume.
