Abstract
Whenever reactions occur in heterogeneous systems (such as flotation pulps), they take place predominantly at one of the interfaces, whether the solid/liquid, the liquid/liquid, or the liquid/gas. Some reactions may occur within the liquid phase, among the dissolved species, but such homogeneous reactions are not the prevailing ones in flotation systems.
