Developmentally Regulated Multigene Families in Dictyostelium Discoideum

  • Chapter
Genetic Engineering

Part of the book series: Genetic Engineering ((GEPM))

Abstract

Cellular slime molds have intrigued biologists since they were discovered at the end of the 19th century. In 1935, Kenneth Raper first reported the isolation of Dictyostelium discoideum and described its developmental cycle (1).
