Abstract
With the exception of the longest autosomal pair which is subtelocentric, the autosomes of Melomys are very similar to those of Pseudomys (Folio No. 475) However, both species may possess extra B chromosomes. In M. cervinipes, as many as 12 B chromosomes have been found. All B chromosomes are heterochromatic.
