Abstract
A number of the “acrocentric” chromosomes have distinct second arm and one pair bears a secondary constriction near the centromere. Identification of the X chromosome is not too difficult. Though the X is morphologically similar to the second pair of largest metacentric autosomes, it is slightly shorter than these autosomes. The Y chromosome is the smallest element of the complement.
