Abstract
The 80s saw a strong emphasis on quality and reliability primarily because end users of semiconductor ICs, like system houses, auto industry, etc., demanded it [333]. The transition to a globally competitive market in the 80s was the main cause of this added emphasis, by end users, on improving quality. These market forces have led to the standardization of very high quality, levels. These quality levels cannot be achieved without I DDQ testing.
