Abstract
Seniors housing improves the quality of life for an increasingly significant segment of the population. The number of people in the United States over 65 years of age is projected to double in the next thirty years. However, the number of individuals most in need of seniors housing—those age eighty-five and over—is projected to increase three times. Businessman/author Pete Peterson, in his latest book, Will America Grow Up Before it Grows Old, points out that this growth in the seniors population is equivalent to adding an entire New York City of people over eighty-five to the population.
