Abstract
No discussion about food supply can be separated from its interaction with human populations. The earth’s population was slightly less than six billion in 1996 and is projected to double in less than 50 years, providing the annual increase of about 1.5% annually continues. Clearly, food production must increase accordingly, in order to accommodate such population growth.
