Abstract
Neurological diseases are important to recognize in psychiatric settings and can cause mental disturbances that are increasingly relevant and common in the differential diagnosis of psychiatric symptoms. The associated clinical syndromes offer important insights into the biological substrates of human behavior. They also underscore the complex interplay between the forces of nature and nurture on mental function. In this chapter, we will emphasize psychiatric aspects of neurological problems and how the two areas have significant overlap. Some of the basic clinical features of common neurological disorders and their treatment are also summarized.
