Abstract

Advanced communications technologies (as discussed in Chapter I), together with the latest advances in information processing technologies (as will be discussed in this chapter), provide the technological basis for decision support of operational risk management. This chapter discusses three advances in information technology: multimedia and hypermedia, the Internet system, and virtual reality. To build an intelligent decision support system for operational risk management, information and communications technologies must be complemented by decision models for operational risk management, as was discussed in Chapter II.
