In the previous chapters, the problem of scheduling in VOD service has been confined to streams already admitted into the system. Such scheduling of service sequencing is analogous to process scheduling in operating systems. A natural question to follow is whether mechanisms similar to those for job scheduling in operating systems can be applied to VOD scheduling.
