Analog VLSI for Computer Vision

Abstract

This chapter gives another perspective of the design of vision chips, i.e. from the hardware point of view toward algorithmic issues. First the general issues facing AVLSI design of vision algorithms are presented. Analog neural networks, as an architectural superset of vision chips, are then introduced. Major differences between analog neural networks and vision chips are highlighted.
