An Approach of Adaptive Fuzzy Control and Its Appplication to Power Systems

Abstract

In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy control scheme is proposed for a class of nonlinear systems. The scheme employs an adaptive fuzzy controller and a compensation controller. The parameters of the fuzzy controller are on-line adjusted in accordance with an adaptive law, while the asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system is proved based on the Lyapunov synthesis approach. The scheme is demonstrated by controlling a chaotic system, and the results are compared with Wang’s one (Wang, 1993). Finally, the proposed scheme is applied to a power system containing TCSC (thyristor controlled series compensator) devices, and some favorable results in simulation experiments are reported.
