Abstract

We must commence this chapter by reiterating the caveat cited earlier in Chapter 1 regarding CP structure. That in essence the idealized, extended 1-d structures of theoretical treatments are valid almost nowhere in the practical world of CPs. We may visualize this again by re-citing a schematic structure, Fig6-3 (Chapter 6), where it is seen that short extended chains constituting the core of the CP are woven into fibers or globules, which are in turn constituents of larger fiber or globule bundles.
