Abstract
In this section we attempt to introduce spinor distortions in both the initial and final states. The analysis presented here works upon the assumption that semi-relativistic continuum-distorted (CDW) wavefunctions are used in the initial and final descriptions, to give the relativistic RCDW model. However, due to difficulties in evaluating the matrix-elements in the non-relativistic version of this model, we have decided to evaluate the approximation where the initial distortion is the asymptotic form of the CDW distortion. This is an eikonal phase and therefore the approximation is called the relativistic continuumdistorted-wave-eikonal-initial-state (RCDWEIS) approximation.
