Abstract
Talking about the dialectic in philosophy leads easily off into mysticism. In fact, it’s sometimes hard to separate the two since they tend to flow into each other where cognition and subjective experience merge.
Thy voice from on high crying unto me, “I am the Food of the fullgrown; grow, and then thou shalt feed on ME. Nor shalt thou change Me into hty substance as thou changest the food of thy flesh, but thou shalt be changed into Mine.”
(St. Augustine, Confessions, Bk. vii)
