Abstract

TMN agent performs the function of the agent since the elements such as the manager that uses the agent service, the real sources that the agent takes full charge, and Guideline for Definition of Managed Object(GDMO) compiler that creates the code of the agent interact mutually. In this book, the result that is received when the Fanning methodology is applied to the actual implementation of TMN agent is evaluated by comparing with TMN system that is developed by not applying the concept of the Farming (non-Farming methodology). As a result, we can find that if the network that composes Data Communication Network(DCN) is developed as a network with the speed higher or equal to ATM, the performance does not show much difference between the Farming methodology and the non-Farming methodology. However, in the aspect of the development cost, the Farming methodology is relatively better. Therefore, if the network with the speed higher or equal to 100Mbps is composed of DCN, it is desirable to develop the system by the Fanning methodology
