Binomial and Normal Distributions

  • David Marchevsky

Theoretical distributions are mathematical functions that have differing properties. Data obtained from observations of natural phenomena often possess characteristics that approximate the properties of theoretical distributions. In these circumstances, the properties of theoretical distributions can be applied to the observed information. This exercise allows us to make important inferences about populations of interest that would not be possible otherwise.
